Our client a privately owned, Manitoba based manufacturing and distribution company, having experienced significant growth over the past several years, is currently recruiting for the position of Assistant Controller. |
|
|
|
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller with all aspects of accounting operations and administrative functions for the company. The Accountant will be specifically responsible for the following functions: |
|
|
|
Assist the Controller with month-end closing and analysis, and preparation of related financial and ad-hoc reports, as well as providing assistance with preparation and production of year-end financial statements and analysis |
|
|
|
Oversee administration of day to day general accounting functions, Invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and maintenance & integrity of the companys general ledger |
|
|
|
Financial and operational analysis and reporting related to production costs, inventory management and sales performance |
|
|
|
Provide financial support and customer service to suppliers, dealers and internal departments related to invoicing, inventory, sales and operational reports |
|
|
|
QUALIFICATIONS: |
|
|
|
EDUCATION |
|
|
|
Undergraduate degree, and enrollment in a recognized accounting designation (CGA, CMA) |
|
|
|
EXPERIENCE |
|
|
|
Minimum 5 years experience in a full cycle finance & accounting role |
|
|
|
Experience working in the manufacturing, distribution and/or retail sales industries |
|
|
|
|
|
REQUIREMENTS |
|
|
|
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience producing analytical reports related to financial, sales and operational performance |
|
Exceptional full cycle accounting skills, having worked in all aspects of the monthly accounting cycle, up to and including production of financial statements |
|
Excellent oral and written communication skills |
|
Experience working with complex ERP and computerized accounting systems and above average knowledge of excel |
|
Very strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet strict, time sensitive deadlines |
