Mondetta MPG is a rapidly growing apparel design and manufacturing company that provides our customers with leading-edge fashion design and quality at unexpected prices. Mondetta MPG is seeking a Technical Designer to work closely with the Designers, Buyers, and Product Development Managers to execute the technical development of products and programs. In addition, the Technical Designer will work closely with manufacturers and vendors to ensure product specifications, fit, and construction meet quality standards. RESPONSIBILITIES . Review new styles with Designers to understand vision and concept . Complete accurate technical packages and ensure they are sent to overseas manufacturers on time. . Work with the graphics department to complete line sheets and logo artwork to send to overseas manufacturers. . Work with the fit department using live models and body forms to assess fit, proportion, and overall styling of garments; inspect construction and workmanship. . Provide detailed evaluations for each fit sample including but not limited to pattern corrections, sketches, photos, and fit comments to agents, vendors, and overseas manufactures. . Work with private brands and in-house labels to approve lab dips, bulk fabric, and trims. . Conduct daily communication with overseas manufacturers. . Following through from fit to shipment sample, prioritizing workload to ensure deadlines are met. . Provide support to other Technical Designers and design department as required. QUALIFICATIONS . Degree or Diploma in related University or College Fashion/Textile program. . Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, pattern making, sewing, measuring, and fitting. . Previous work experience in similar roles in the fashion/apparel industry an asset. . Ability to communicate technical information to customers and overseas manufacturers. . Basic computer skills; knowledge of Mac, Photoshop, and Excel an asset . Ability to organize work, manage time, and schedule projects to meet deadlines. . Strong communication and organizational skills. . Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
