In 2015, The Truth and Reconciliation Commission's final report published 94 "Calls to Action" appealing to all levels of government to work together in an effort to repair the social and emotional damage caused to Indigenous people by residential schools. "Call to Action #92" is directed toward the corporate sector to adopt the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples within their policies and operational activities, and to develop strong business relationships with Indigenous Peoples and their communities. Legacy Bowes is proud to be bringing awareness to this call to action and is offering Knowledge programs to increase education and understanding to support this movement. In addition, businesses can opt for an assessment as to where their organization is at in their learning. The Director of Truth and Reconciliation Partnerships will assist in developing a road map of actions to implement so they may create true impact and operate with greater awareness. We are seeking a Director of Truth and Reconciliation Partnerships to drive our programs, provide consultation to policy development, and to continue the conversation with the business community. The Director of Truth and Reconciliation Partnerships is a natural builder with a genuine interest in bringing awareness, who will work at a high level independently but will also be a passionate collaborator genuinely driven to make a difference and contribute to "Call to Action #92". Extensive knowledge and understanding of the United Nations Declaration of Indigenous People and the 10 Principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission . Strong knowledge of economic development priorities of First Nations communities . Highly experienced with Indigenous capacity building initiatives and programs through education and training . Excels in developing opportunities for growth and partnerships while remaining ethical and sensitive to the needs of our stakeholders . Takes the initiative, is responsive and adaptable, and is creative in developing new approaches to meeting objectives and creating both strategic and operational plans . A strong problem solver who is open to and has an eye for innovation . Prior experience in partnership growth and administration, consulting, business development, and consensus building in an executive management/operational role . Demonstrated expertise establishing and maintaining positive working relationships both internally and externally with varied stakeholders complemented by the ability to manage a diverse team . A receptive, active listener who can balance perspectives coupled with a strong client service focus and the ability to build long-term client loyalty . A kind, enthusiastic, and honest approach to leadership complemented by an analytical and strategic approach to drive new revenue .
