Rossbrook House is seeking a new Manager of Finance and Administration to join their organization. In 1976 Sister Geraldine MacNamara and a group of inner city young people created Rossbrook House, a neighbourhood drop-in centre with a simple mission: "No child who does not want to be alone, should ever have to be." In the decades since, it has become a safe place for children and youth to belong, play, and learn. The Manager of Finance and Administration is accountable to the Executive Director and has direct working relationships with members of both Rossbrook House and Rossbrook House Foundation Boards. The Manager of Finance and Administration oversees the organizations' financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate ledgers and financial statements. This is a hands-on role which includes Human Resource and Administration responsibilities. Responsibilities . Maintains IFRS standards for financial accountability at Rossbrook House and the Rossbrook House Foundation . Provides accurate and timely financial information for internal & external users . Provides administration related to Rossbrook HR employment policies and procedures . Oversees business information systems and directs IT consultants . Provides administrative support to Rossbrook House, as well as the Rossbrook House Foundation as required. . Processes for assembling and monitoring annual operating budgets are collaborative and effective . Accounting and bank account reconciliation practices are accurate, transparent and clearly presented to appropriate audiences . Compliance with CRA and other regulatory directives and guidelines are ongoing . Annual audits will be supported by accurate, clear and comprehensive accounting and operational information . Ensures Compensation and Benefits are delivered with high regard for staffs' understanding and satisfaction . Managing daily accounting functions and records for Rossbrook House and Rossbrook House Foundation . Maintains and ensures Human Resources records are up-to-date and compliance guidelines are being adhered to . Ensures accurate payroll records, remittances and compliance . Directs administrative staff Skills & Qualifications . Minimum of 5 years finance and accounting experience . Designated CPA, consideration will be taken into account with a combination of experience and secondary education . Excellent computer skills, with emphasis on accounting programs, such as SAGE and/or QuickBooks, as well as donor database software like Etapestry . Strong written and oral communication skills . Previous experience in a Non-Profit environment and working with a Board of Directors . Experience writing grant submissions and reports to government and charitable foundations is an asset .
