Our client, the Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation, is seeking an organized and efficient Director, Finance to join their organization! The Winnipeg Housing Rehabilitation Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation involved in the development, renovation, ownership and management of affordable housing primarily in Winnipeg's inner city. In addition to the development and maintenance of quality affordable housing, WRHC provides tenants with the tools necessary to access many of the community supports available to them through resource coordination and education. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Finance will manage all the accounting and financial functions of WRHC to ensure the viability of the organization, efficient management of all projects. Position Scope The Director, Finance will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department and review of monthly and annual financial statements, in addition to the preparation of annual audit files in a timely manner. This position will also coordinate with various levels of Government to provide statements and other reports, GST returns, annual corporate returns, and coordinating the annual charitable return, among others. WRHC has the pleasure of having significant reserve funds that the Director, Finance will manage and invest in accordance with existing operating agreements, and will work with various financial institutions to invest the funds appropriately. Although the follow-up on collecting tenant receivables is coordinated by the property manager, the Director, Finance will ensure that the collection of all receivables is properly maintained. The incumbent will also become familiar with existing operating agreements and tenant legislation to ensure compliance with both documents. QUALIFICATIONS . Active CPA Designation with a minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role . Solid skills and experience in strategic planning and budget preparation . Strong technical skills in reporting and controls . Demonstrate a passion and commitment for social services, project management, building and housing development, and community involvement . Previous experience in a non-profit environment working with a Board of Directors . Passionate about mentorship and coaching with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team in a fast-paced environment . Excellent assessment and analytical skills with proven ability to determine successful outcomes and goals, including planning, organizing, problem solving and decision making .
