Our client is seeking a Manager of Recreation and Culture to manage the Recreation and Culture department in all its functions for the Municipality of Sioux Lookout. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Manager of Recreation and Culture will oversee program development and delivery, and special events. As the Manager of Recreation and Culture, you will also provide leadership and direction in the development of short- and long-range Recreation and Culture plans and projects, and coordinate activities with other departments and agencies as needed. You will manage the Recreation and Culture department operations and capital budget and act as liaison with community groups, social agencies, other departments, levels of government, utilities, consultants, contractors, developers, professional associations, etc. on matters relating to Recreation and Culture projects and operations. Visit https://bit.ly/SL-MRC for more information! Education & Experience . Minimum 5 to 10 years related management experience; experience in Recreation and Culture preferred . Formal academic training in Recreation or related discipline at college or university level . Experience in budgeting (operating and capital) . Class G driver's licence . Certified Arena Refrigeration Plant Technician (CARPT) is a definite asset. Skills . Thorough working knowledge of Municipal Recreation and Culture infrastructure and functions; working knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe work practices . Working knowledge of marketing strategies, provincial grant processes and revenue generating venues in a recreation environment, community development techniques .
