People Services Business Partner - Term The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not-for-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking a People Services, Business Partner. The People Services, Business Partner reports to the Senior Business Partner - People Services (Emergency Management). As well, the Business Partner will work to ensure the success of the matrix model, agility of the organization, delivering against the One Red Cross vision and interoperability, and ensure robust risk management and personnel well-being. Additionally, this role will work a rotating schedule in order to provide seven days a week support to our PS teams within the various provinces in support of emergency operations. Responsibilities: . Develop an in-depth understanding of the client group operations and People Services needs. . Provide advice to the client group on identification of People Services needs, implementing initiatives which support operational strategies and enable the operations to anticipate and adapt to existing and future needs. . Ensure there is national and provincial level coherence, standards and consistency in the service and initiatives within client groups. . Provide coaching and advice to managers, employees, volunteers and delegates on People Services related matters. . Support client group where required in workforce planning, job classification performance management and salary change/increase administration process for the client group(s). . Keep the broader People Services team informed of the operational activities and requirements of their client group. . Ensure tracking of People Services trends and metrics for the client group providing reports to clients and the people services. . Provide leadership and guidance to employees and managers on the interpretation of Canadian Red Cross, Human Rights and Employment Standard related policies legislation; monitoring compliance, gaps and risks. . Consult on issues related to performance, Code of Conduct breaches. . HR-related complaints, termination, etc and participates in their effective resolution. . Conduct exit Interviews, summarizing data to identify trends and makes recommendations to the client manager and People Services. . Work with the specialist teams and people relations to plan and prioritize workload within the People Services team and identify areas of overlap or opportunities for synergies across the client groups. . As required, represent People Services on various working groups. . Other projects as required from time to time based on emergency operations and/or capacity building operational activities. Qualifications: . A bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, business or related discipline and a minimum of three (3) to six (6) years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience . Human Resources designation or working towards is preferred . Experience working in a complex matrix environment, with a diverse group of stakeholders (employees, volunteers and delegates) . Strong customer service orientation and planning, priority setting and negotiation skills to manage multiple clients with competing priorities . Ability to work a flexible/rotating schedule and longer hours often on short notice especially during times of emergency response . Experience working in an emergency response and non profit organization is an asset . Travel and potential short-term (1-2 week) deployment within Canada may be required . Experience coaching and providing advice on complex people relations issues (e.g., performance management, discipline, termination, restructuring, change management). . Professionalism, credibility and exceptional interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and establish and manage productive internal and external relationships at all levels of the organization. . Strong process and change management skills combined with outstanding communications skills, confidence and humility. . Computer and numerical literacy, comfort working with data bases, metrics and applicant tracking system. . Fluency (speaking, reading and writing) in English is essential; a second language may be beneficial and fluency in French is highly desirable. .
