The Opportunity Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) is a not-for-profit organization that carries out a broad range of programs that are united in the goal of making life better for those in need. These programs include: Humanitarian Assistance & Development, Food Security & Nutrition, Sustainable Development and Education, and Refugee Resettlement. The We Care program provides quilts, hygiene supplies and school supplies to communities in need. CLWR is searching for a collaborative, adaptable, and open-minded Director of Programs to join their organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Programs will be responsible for managing and developing all programs within CLWR. The successful individual will supervise a small team of Program Managers who work on specific projects, and engages directly with partners who have the staff resources on the ground. The Director of Programs is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and must be an experienced and effective manager with excellent leadership skills and personal values that are aligned with those of CLWR. This role will be involved with and accountable for budget and strategic planning within a multiple revenue source structure, and will have the opportunity to measure and evaluate projects. Skills & Qualifications . Master's Degree in International Development or related field . 10 years' experience of Humanitarian aid or Development agency . 5+ years' experience at senior management level . Experience with various funding models . Experience with managing budgets, including large project budgets . Demonstrable competency in overseeing program development . Comfortable with a faith-based environment - open and respectful with customs, willing to participate in religious traditions . Experience participating in international communities is an asset . Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Creative problem-solving skills . Must be eligible to work in Canada .
