Our client, Economic Development Winnipeg Inc. (EDW) is searching for an energetic, innovative, and engaging individual to lead their team in the role of Vice President, Sales & Business Development. Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President will oversee and provide strategies for the organization's sales team. This executive will have a highly developed business acumen and will lead the YES! Winnipeg initiative to attract new business and support the retention, development, and expansion of existing businesses in Winnipeg by assisting companies in expanding their markets to facilitate local expansion, liaising with government and facilitating other business to business connections. RESPONSIBILITIES . Establish and maintain contacts and relationships with senior business executives, specifically in sectors identified as key . Provide and coordinate activities to support clients to achieve their investment goals . Identify, act as a catalyst for, and mobilize resources to capture opportunities for new investment . Ensure strong and effective working relationships are developed and maintained with all key stakeholders . Provide strategies and report on metrics for EDW salespeople . Ensure that investors are informed and engaged regarding activity and results . Prepare budgets and ensure expenditures are effectively managed . Manage attainment of key targets, hiring staff, train/develop/supervise and motivate staff appropriately, track results and measure progress . Mobilize community collaboration to uncover opportunities and devise and execute action plans; . Contribute to the development of the business plan and strategy for the organization . Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve the goals designated and identified in the business plan EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE . Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business or International Relations . + 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area during which both professional and management capability have been demonstrated . + 10 years of successful business development experience . Minimum 5 years' successful track record in Senior/Executive Management role(s) . Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products SKILLS & ABILITIES . Demonstrated effectiveness in sales management . Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, across all levels within and outside of the organization . Proven ability to prospect, identify opportunities, mobilize and coordinate resources, and deliver timely results . Demonstrated knowledge of continental and international business as well as a thorough understanding of Winnipeg . Excellent oral and written communication skills, including highly developed presentation skills . Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team and to develop individuals within the team . Proven ability to manage in a changing and political environment .
