The Manitoba Lung Association is a community health organization that seeks to improve lung health. The Association's efforts are focused on preventing lung disease and improving the quality of life for the 1 in 5 Manitobans who must cope with the devastating effects of lung disease. As the ideal candidate you will be a dynamic, visionary leader with strong business acumen. The President & CEO must be strategic in nature with the ability to assess organizational effectiveness and identify areas for change and improvement. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO will become the public face of the organization and must be comfortable in a public forum and meeting with community leaders. You have a proven track record for effective leadership and capacity to strengthen the brand. Your passion for making a difference and leading through change will create long-term success and sustainability. Responsibilities: . Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop a new vision and strategic plan to guide the organization . Work closely with our partner organizations to anticipate and respond to community needs, seeking innovative ways to improve quality and safety of care regarding lung health . Develop and maintain constructive and collaborative working relationships with the Canadian Lung Association, other provincial lung associations and health care providers such as physicians, researchers and lung health professionals . Oversee the administration of the organization and manage all staff in order to enhance the lung health of Manitobans . Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization . Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the organization . Prudently manage the contributions of donors, funders, and sponsors . Advocate on behalf of the mission of the Manitoba Lung Association and communicate with external stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of the organization and to identify changes in the community served by the organization . Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization's people, property, finances, goodwill, and image and implement measures to control risks EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE . Related University degree in management, business administration, public administration, or health care management . 10 or more years of progressive management experience in a not-for-profit organization or related experience . Proven track record cultivating and maintaining relationships . Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts . Must possess a valid MB Driver's License SKILLS & ABILITIES . Strong analytical and problem solving skills . The ability to supervise and motivate volunteers and staff . Strong written and oral communication skills . Able to anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations .
